Debt Free

Galatians 5:1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

Rodney started house hunting he was ready to move into his dream house, only thing was that he had limited funds, but he decided that he was going to go to all the open houses that he could until he found a house that he loved, even though probably he wouldn't be able to afford it. One day he found the perfect house and he decided to talk to the real state agent about the price, the agent informed him that it wasn't necessary for him to pay, an old relative had already paid full in advance for any house that Rodney chose, that was the second time that happened to Rodney, the same had happened to him when he went to buy a car, and just as he had done that day he informed the agent that he wanted to pay for the house anyway, that he was going to get a mortgage and pay that house for the next 30 years. Rodney was happy to be a slave of his debt.

The story is fake, of course, nobody likes being a slave of something that has already been paid for, we like free things. Jesus has already paid a great price for our salvation, yet there is a lot of people who are not taking advantage of this free gift and continue being slaves of their hard life. In Mark chapter five we read about Jesus healing a man who had a impure spirit in the region of the Gerasenes, when Jesus healed this man the people of the town asked Jesus to leave, they knew that Jesus had the power to heal that town of all their sins and help them, but they decided to continue being slaves.

We have a choice, we can continue being slaves or we can choose to live a life that is debt free.
